Kaldi is brewed after a Czech recipe since 1842. The purpose of the beer was to make a quality product with a great aftertaste.
There are several things that make Kaldi so different from the traditional Icelandic beer. There is only used the best quality raw materials there is. It was also decided to have the beer as healthy and fresh as possible, and because of that Kaldi is the only beer in Iceland that is not pasteurized, he is without all added sugar and has no preservatives. The only thing that is used to make the beer is four kinds of malt which is the best malt possible, three kinds of hops, yeast and water. All of these raw materials are specially ordered from Czech Republic, besides the Icelandic water of course which we get from a spring in Sólarfjall(Sunny mountain) in Eyjafjord. It is actually the water that makes such a big part of making the beer so good.
